Tip of The Day

Good Morning to all my favorite internet people, that's every single one of you. So I'm out here walking my dog and it has occurred to me that I need to share something with you. One Tip that can make everyday better and it's a tip that has many wonderful results. One of the results will be that you will look about ten pounds lighter, you will probably add a few years to your life because it's going to increase good posture and increasing good posture is really helpful, especially years later.

We were all on the phone and we're all looking down like this, I caught myself doing that and thinking oh my gosh I'm looking like my mom who developed this habit about the age of 70 when her back started really giving her problems God bless her heart. She was afraid of falling and started looking down all the time and tipping forward and the result was really really bad posture which was very hard on her back. Made a bad problem even worse. The tip is that when you are standing or even when you're sitting at your desk, notice your posture and change it up by lifting your rib cage off of your hip bones.

Feel like you're trying to get a separation there and as you do that you will notice that your sternum engages, it will feel a little bit like your rib cage and your core is closing in and pulling you in and supporting you. Don't raise your shoulders when you're doing it, make sure that you're staying very tall so that as you lift your ribcage off of your hip bones you're pulling in your core. Make sure that you do that while you're walking, pushing a grocery cart, moving garbage cans like I just did a few minutes ago, it was a little bit harder than just walking but you can do it. Why is this important because we're always looking down at our phones, and what we should be doing is keeping our necks upright. So that's my tip for this week, give it a shot and maybe you too will not have to do sit ups so much. Make it a great day, don't have a good day, make it a good day!
